- We've also won a Green Heroes 2008 Shield and a golden Green Apple for our "Go Green with Shrek" environmental and water efficiency campaign
- We were awarded "Best Utility Company" at the 2007 London Transport Awards for using recycled material to backfill trenches, reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill during road works
- The Environment and Education Team worked with children, teachers and parents from Byfleet Primary School on water saving, which won a Silver "Green Apple" Award in 2007

Environment and Education Centre
Our Environment and Education Centre in Bushey welcomes around 6,000 visitors a year - most of these are children on class visits. Everything at the Centre is done with the environment in mind. For example, we ask schools to participate in a "lunch box challenge" which helps keep the centre's Green Flag, Eco-Centre award status.
Staff at the Centre teach a huge number of pupils on an outreach programme, as well as attend various fairs and events throughout the year. Altogether, we reach around 20,000 people a year.
