Our goal... to seek opportunities to reduce our consumption of natural resources by using alternatives where possible, and by optimising efficiency of use, whilst protecting and enhancing the environment.

Managing responsibly... What do we do?

Society's demand for water has to be met efficiently and economically. Veolia Water UK's task is to balance the demand for water against the availability of water resources in the areas where we operate, whilst protecting the environment and caring for the communities in which we live and work. Due to the pressure on water resources in our supply area (South East England) this requires innovative solutions.

Our group companies strive to:

  • Use water more efficiently
  • Protect the quality of raw waters
  • Ensure there is enough water in the environment to maintain good quality rivers, lakes and wetlands
  • Control the amount of water the Group takes from the environment by setting targets to control the consumption of industrial water. more efficiently
  • Reduce water consumption in our offices
  • Reduce energy consumption generated from fossil fuels and curb greenhouse gases
  • Reduce fuel consumption and promote the use of cleaner fuels and vehicles
  • Reduce office waste reduce the amount of waste going to landfill, through reuse on site and, in the case of treatment waste, on agricultural land
  • Maintain and enhance biodiversity (ie flora and fauna)
